Mono Carton is a single-layered packaging box made from a single sheet of paperboard. Unlike corrugated boxes (which have a "fluted" or wavy middle layer), mono cartons are sleek, lightweight, and primarily designed for retail display and primary product protection.

They are the industry standard for products where branding and high-quality graphics are essential.

1. Technical Composition

• Material: Usually made from SBS (Solid Bleached Sulfate), FBB (Folding Box Board), or Duplex Board.

• Thickness (GSM): Typically ranges from 250 GSM to 450 GSM.

• Structure: It is a single sheet of material that is die-cut, creased, and folded. It does not have the "cushioning" of corrugated cardboard, making it more space-efficient on retail shelves.

   

2. Key Features & Finishes

Mono cartons are favored for their ability to take on high-end decorative finishes that help a product "pop" in a store:

• Printing: Most commonly Offset Printed for razor-sharp text and vibrant colors.

   

• Lamination: Available in Matte (for a sophisticated, soft feel) or Gloss (for high shine and color depth).

   

• Special Effects: * Spot UV: Shiny coating on specific areas (like a logo).

   

  • Foil Stamping: Metallic gold, silver, or holographic accents.

     

  • Embossing/Debossing: Raised or recessed textures.

     

  • Window Patching: A die-cut hole covered with transparent film to show the product inside.
